1. Basic network
Network set-up is basically stepped by step menu.
1.1. WAN
In the first place, you will select which port you want to be a WAN, simply by just clicking on the port of your choice and then click next which will take you to the next step.
1.2 LAN
Then you will set up LAN ports, if you select P1 and P2 both in LAN1, LAN2, LAN0 they will be bridged. Once we select up we will again press next which will take us to the next step.
1.3 IP address
Now we can specify WAN port and it’s setting if we want the IP address to be static or taken from the DHCP server. As mentioned before by default is IP address of WAN port set to 192.168.13.20
Once you are done with setting you to need to click “SAVE” to save your setting into memory. Without clicking on the save button you won’t be enabled to the next step.
By clicking on the top menu into LAN0 (Because we previously choose P1 and P2 to be LAN0 bridged if you have chosen something else you will have different options on the top bar).
We will specify the IP address of LAN ports if we want to have a static IP address or DHCP address. Then we have the option to select if we want to enable the DHCP server for LAN ports if we check this option another set up with the DHCP pool start and DHCP pool end will go out and we can specify this setting.
Once you are done with setting you to need to click “SAVE” to save your setting into memory. Without clicking on the save button you won’t be enabled to the next step.
1.4 DNS
The next step is to specify the DNS server.
Once you are done with setting you to need to click “SAVE” to save your setting into memory. Without clicking on the save button you won’t be enabled to the next step.
After completing this step myBOX will be rebooted (approx. 5 minutes) and will be booted back up with new configuration you have set.
- TIP: If you have made some settings and you then realized that it’s not correct you can always go back by clicking on each step at the bottom bar but remember it will null steps before. So as an example I am at “DNS” set up and I just want to go back and specify the bridge so I click on “Bridge” which will take me back to this step, but it will null IP address set-up and DNS set-up.
After you are finished with settings click “Save and restart” it will save settings and restart myBOX after myBOX boots up he will be accessible with network settings that you have set.
2. Firewall
Inside the Firewall section, you are able to add rules to the firewall and add port forwarding.
Adding firewall rule:
Simply you just name service, add port and select protocol and which interfaces should allow or deny.
Adding port forwarding:
You specify external port, Local IP address, Local port and choose the protocol. Then just confirm everything by clicking on add entry.
Then once you are done adding Firewall rule or port forwarding you need to click “SAVE” and your setting will be saved. If you have done some mistake or you would just like to change a rule or port forwarding there is nothing easier then just clicking on rule or port forward and then click on “Edit rule” or “Edit entry” you just edit save your changes and then apply changes pressing save in Firewall tab.
NOTE: After every change in this section you have to perform reboot in order for rules to be applied!
3. Routes
Inside the routes tab, you have a preview of current routes that are actually set inside the device, you can add a new one or delete old ones.
4. myACCESS
Inside the Cloud tab, you are able to set myACCESS connection, all you need is to provide myBOX your device configuration file from mACCESS webpage. Then you just click on “select file” you select the file and then the file will start uploading to the device, also don’t forget to turn myACCESS on by button.
After this process is finished reboot of myBOX is needed, once the device is rebooted myACCESS will be connected and you are able to use myACCESS VPN.
- NOTE: You can check status of myACCESS inside networking tab.
If myBOX isn’t connected successfully, please check first if you have put correct HW-ID inside https://www.myscada.org/myaccess-portal/ if everything is correct and your myBOX isn’t still connected to myACCESS, please check with your internet provider firewall settings it might be blocking traffic from myBOX, myACCESS automatically dials up out of the interface which has a stable internet connection. If your connection isn’t stable enough myACCESS won’t be working properly and it might cause slow loading of pages or delay or even connection drops when connected to the device.
